Brewster Acquisition

We would like to inform you that Kemp & Denning Limited (K&D) has acquired the Brewster business effective from 1 March 2011.

Samling Global Limited, who has sold the Brewster business to K&D, will continue as a distribution business, under the banner of Australian Wood Panels (AWP) and supply to resellers directly from 1 March 2011. Shane Dickenson will continue to manage the AWP reseller business and this will operate from the premises in Talbot Road.

The Brewster business at Launceston will be relocated to 33-35 McKenzie Street and this site will be operational from 1 March 2011. This is a larger site and will allow the Brewster / K&D Trade business to grow and expand.

The Brewster business at Hobart will continue to operate from Campbell Street.

Both K&D and AWP are excited about this new opportunity and look forward to making the transition as smooth as possible in order that you can continue to do business as usual.

To answer some of the questions you may have regarding your account and what will happen, we have listed below some of these questions.

If I have an account with Brewster now, what will happen

Your existing account will continue to be used at Brewster and also allow you to purchase at any other K&D outlet.

If I have an account at K&D and Brewster, which one do I use.

You can use both accounts.  We will be merging both of these accounts into one account, which you can use at both Brewster and K&D stores. One statement will be sent at the end of each month after the transition period.

Will I need to complete new paperwork

If you currently only have a Brewster account and do not have a K&D account, we will need new paperwork completed so we are sure we have all your correct contact details and any special requirements you have on your account are catered for accordingly. This process will take a few minutes to complete and will ensure our records are accurate. We can assist with this process.

What will happen with my credit limit

Subject to keeping your account within normal trading terms, credit limits will be combined.  Such that if you have an account with Brewster and K&D,  you can continue to do business as you do now at the level you do now.

I don’t have a card now at Brewster, will I need a card to charge things to my account

We will be progressively issuing new cards for customers that only purchase from Brewster.  If you already have a K&D card, you will be able to use this card at Brewster from 1 March 2011.

If you would like to request K&D Cards please send an email to accounts@kd.com.au, giving your account name and the names of people you would like to be issued with K&D cards.

What happens to the balance on my account from 28 February 2011

You will receive a separate statement for Invoices up until 28 February 2011 from AWP (being the previous owners of Brewsters) as K&D has not acquired the debts of Brewster.  During this transition period you will receive a statement from AWP until the remaining balance from 28 February is completely paid as well as a statement from Brewster/K&D for invoices from 1 March 2011 and onwards.

Who do I pay

It would assist us if you could make two separate payments.

For invoices up until 28 February 2011, cheques should be made payable to AWP Pty Ltd and posted to PO Box 514 Booval Qld 4304.

For invoices from 1 March 2011, cheques should be made payable to Kemp & Denning Limited and sent to GPO Box 608, Hobart, Tas, 7001.

Alternatively payments can be taken into any K&D or Brewster store.

If you currently pay your account via electronic fund transfer, you can continue to do this for invoices up to 28 February 2011, but for invoices after this date you will need to transfer funds into the K&D Account.  Information regarding this will be sent out to you with the statements at the end of March.

Return of Goods

If you have goods which need to be returned that were purchased prior to 28 February 2011, please return these to the same store as soon as possible so we can deal with the goods.
